“(Police) received a copy of the photo which depicted the victim sitting in the chair with a gunshot wound to the face. It also depicts a black male taking the ‘selfie,’ with his face facing the camera and the victim behind the actor. The photo had the name ‘Maxwell’ across the top.”

A 16-year-old punk named Maxwell Marion Morton sits in the Westmoreland County Juvenile Detention Center without bail on a murder charge after sending a picture of himself with the body of Ryan Mangan sitting in a chair behind him, dead from a gunshot wound to the face. Maxwell is being charged with first-degree murder, and possession of a firearm by a minor.

As per RT and The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Ryan Mangan was found dead in his home by his mother, who reported the incident to local police on Wednesday, February 4th. At some point between Wednesday and Friday morning, Maxwell Morton sent the picture of himself with the lifeless body of Ryan Mangan to a classmate via the mobile app “SnapChat.” Morton also allegedly sent a text message that read, “Told you I cleaned up the shells, Ryan was not the last one.” The classmate saved the grotesque photograph, and then showed it to his mother, who then immediately reported it to police.

Police identified Mangan from the picture, and secured a search warrant for the residence of Maxwell Morton on Friday, February 6th. The search of Maxwell’s home turned up a 9mm pistol, hidden under the basement steps, and a single, empty, shell casing from it. Maxwell Morton confessed to the murder of Ryan Mangan, and was taken into custody, unfortunately without incident.

Pamela Rutledge, the director of the Media Psychology Research Center at Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California, told the Tribune-Review “This is really a question about criminal pathology rather than technology. Perpetrators in need of validating their power and sense of self-importance have used all kinds of communications to ‘brag’ about criminal activities — from the local hangout to social media, like Facebook.” Maxwell Morton was arraigned on Friday, and was denied bail by the judge.

Believe it, or not, but this is actually the 3rd murder in 6 months where the killer(s) took a picture of themselves with their victim! On August 9th, 2014 in West St. Paul, Minnesota, Marc Amouri Bakambia strangled his girlfriend Dorothy Ann Redd, and then snapped a photo of himself crying next to her corpse. 3 months later, in Memphis, Tennessee, a couple named Roger Reed, Jr. and Lashonda Williams captured photographs of themselves with their victim, Don Smith dead in the backseat of his vehicle.

There is something fundamentally wrong with today’s generation of Americans. I say “Americans” simply because that is what my perspective is limited to, since it is (unfortunately) where I currently reside. Social media has programmed American people to become completely obsessed with themselves. This point is now being made painfully obvious by the vile vermin discussed in this article. We are living in a time where all that American teens care about is immediate self-gratification. Who’s fault is it though? Is it the school’s fault for pushing their socialist agenda, in a vain attempt to force everyone to be drones and clones of each other, to the point that individuals have to murder someone, and take a picture with their victim to stand out from the crowd? No? Then is it the fault of society for rejecting anyone who doesn’t conform to their social norms, creating “outcasts” who then become maniacal killers? I disagree with both questions. I think you, the parents of these children are the problem. You are the ones who send your children to these schools of Nazi propaganda, that teach them nothing of any importance to the real world. It is you who perpetuates these arbitrary societal standards that causes anyone who thinks, dresses, speaks, or acts differently from you to embrace hatred, which inevitably breeds violence. You then later beg for someone to “do something,” instead of accepting any responsibility for yourselves. You neglect your kids by wasting your lives working jobs that you hate, to buy shit you don’t need, and to pay bills that you can never catch up on. This neglect forces these “outcasts” to withdraw into their rooms, with their phones, tablets, laptops, and computers where their only existence is in a place that isn’t anymore real that what you call “life.” All of this is your fault. No one else is to blame for any of this. The sooner each and every one of you accepts this as fact, the sooner your children will know what “family” actually means, and the sooner they might stop killing each other for pic “Likes.”
