Joel Edouard Jahmiel Cuffee

The mainstream media loves to incite racial tension via the perpetuation of stories that focus on white police officers beating, choking, tazing, and/or killing defenseless black people, but not many journalistic outlets cover stories where there is no racial issue to exploit. The real issue however, has absolutely nothing to do with race. The problem is with the police, attorneys, and judges that all band together as a united enemy of the free people of the United States in the guise of a corrupt judicial system. Race is merely an old tool that certain people in power have used to divide and conquer the masses. This tool may be old, but it is still extremely effective today. We must recognize it for what it is, and learn to ignore it if we are to evolve together as one race, the human race.

Last year on July 23rd Jahmiel Cuffee was apparently sitting in a chair on his own property in Brooklyn, NY allegedly “rolling a joint,” when officer Joel Edouard and another unnamed cop walked up on him, at which point Jahmiel allegedly tossed whatever it was he had in his hand. The 2 officers then attempt to arrest Cuffee as he says “I didn’t do anything!” This is where the video starts.

In the video you can hear Cuffee plead “Help me!” as more cops approach to help hold him down. Joel Edouard can be seen briefly pulling out a gun, then putting it back in his holster. He then walks away to pick up a piece of paper off the ground, then walks down the sidewalk about 50 feet away from Cuffee with his handcuffs in his hand, turns around, walks back over to where Jahmiel is laying face down, and appears to kick, or stomp him in the head, as another officer then pushes him into the background.

This assault came only 6 days after Eric Garner was choked to death in Staten Island for allegedly selling cigarettes illegally. Cuffee, who suffered scrapes and bumps, was charged with “attempting to tamper with evidence, obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest.” The charges were eventually dropped, and Officer Edouard was placed on modified desk duty in July. As always the incident was investigated by the Internal Affairs Bureau.

This is the first indictment against an NYPD officer for Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson, who is also a former police officer and federal prosecutor. In his opening statement Thompson said “Police officers put their lives on the line every day to keep us all safe. However, this defendant allegedly stomped on the head of a suspect as he lay on the ground, which is unacceptable for a police officer. While a serious matter, this indictment should not reflect on the great work being done throughout the city by the vast majority of police officers who perform their duties honorably.”

I’d like to address the common misconceptions of this quote in parts to make some significant points that I think should be acknowledged if we are to prevent another “civil war:”

  • Let’s cut the bullshit here people. Police officers don’t “put their lives on the line” anymore than you, or I do when we leave the comfort of our home, and fight traffic to and from our place of employment. Anything can happen to anyone, anywhere, at anytime. The world is a dangerous place. As a matter of fact, “police officer” doesn’t make a single list for “10 Deadliest Jobs in America.” Hell, pizza delivery is more dangerous than being a pawn for the monopoly on power. I’ve held 4 of the 10 positions on these 3 lists. Does that make me more brave than a police officer? Furthermore, no one forces them to become police officers. They choose that profession because they’re power hungry dorks who never had the balls to stand up for themselves before they were given a gun, and a glorified hall-monitor badge.
  • They also don’t “keep us all safe.” If they are here to “keep us all safe” then where are all the videos showing them save people? In fact, there is a plethora of evidence to the contrary. I have never in my life seen a police officer save anyone. I have however, been harassed many times for no reason at all, by assholes who should have been a waste on their mothers sheets.
  • The last part where Ken Thompson says “this indictment should not reflect on the great work being done throughout the city by the vast majority of police officers who perform their duties honorably.” is perhaps the most significant. This indictment should definitely reflect on the lack of “great work” being done by these pig scum. You can hear people in the video talking about these cops being corrupt, and being “tired of this shit!” This is the type of programming that most people have allowed themselves to be manipulated by. We must stop listening to their propaganda.

Edouard is the third NYPD officer to be charged by the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office since November, when officers David Afanador and Tyrane Isaac, chased down a teenage boy, and hit him in the mouth with their sidearm, knocking the boys teeth out. I don’t expect to see any justice come from these situations though. Mike Brown and Eric Garner both proved that cops can get away with murder due to the corrupt judicial system.

Every time I see a video where multiple people stand by and watch someone get physically assaulted by cops it pisses me off! I’m not just pissed about police assaulting people, but also because people just stand by and watch! The man was pleading for “help” while no one helped him! Why do you just stand there and watch someone get beaten, tazed, choked, or shot? Why don’t people help and/or defend each other? Why are we not united against them? I’ve never seen anyone beaten by police, but I used to beat up bullies who picked on other kids in school, because I couldn’t stand by and watch while someone was helplessly beaten. If I saw someone being assaulted by cops tomorrow, I still wouldn’t hesitate to help them. Sure, I might get hurt or killed, but at least I died in defense of another human being which is sadly much more than most would do. I’m willing to stand, fight, and die for what I believe in, but I’m just one man. What about you? What price are you willing to pay for freedom?
